What We Believe

We believe in one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Father – Created all things out of nothing in six days (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 33:6&9, Hebrews 11:3).  He continues to be actively involved in His creation by sustaining all things and providing us with everything we need in our daily lives (Hebrews 1:3, Psalm 145:15-16, 1 Peter 5:7).

The Son – Jesus Christ is true God and true man (1 John 5:20, 1 Timothy 2:5).  We believe that Jesus is our only Savior from sin, eternal death and the devil, and that, through faith in Him, He grants us eternal life (John 17:3, John 3:36, 2 Timothy 1:12, Romans 10:10).

The Holy Spirit – in not merely the power or energy of God, but He is also true God with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit brings us to faith in Jesus, so that we might have the blessings (forgiveness of sins and eternal life) that are ours by faith in Jesus. In addition he works renewal in our lives that we might live lives that are pleasing to God (Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Titus 3:5, 2 Thessalonians 2:14, Galatians 5:22-23).

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible Word (John 10:35, Mark 8:38, John 14:26, 2 Timothy 3:16-17) and is relevant to all people in every age.  There, God tells us that all people have sinned and are in need of Jesus Christ as their Savior (Romans 3:23).

…that because of His incredible love for us Jesus died for us and for all people, including you (John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:15-19, 1 Timothy 1:15).

…that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection we have forgiveness of sins as a free gift of His grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 4:25, Ephesians 3:8-9).

…that we receive God’s grace through:

  • His Word, the Gospel (Romans 1:16)

  • The Sacrament of Holy Baptism (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38-39, Titus 3:5-7)

  • The Sacrament of Holy Communion (Matthew 26:28, 1 Corinthians 11:23-24)
